TRX History

TRX originated in the United States, in the Navy. TRX founder and creator Randy Hetrick served in the Navy for 14 years and needed equipment to train for missions, so through various experiments TRX was born. The main problem in the navy was how to keep yourself ready for missions on the move. So Randy created a device out of an old wrestling belt and parachute straps that could be hung over a door and do hundreds of exercises.

The workout programmes just kept growing and so TRX was born - a suspension system that works on the weight of the human body.

In 2001, Randy set up a production facility in the garage of his home, spending all summer prototyping and planning. Together with his friend Joe DiJulio, Randy started a small company and hired his first employees.Randy quickly realized that as dynamic as the TRX suspension system was, without the necessary equipment and training to back it up, this fitness invention would fade into the wind. So he decided to create a company that would build an innovative product while also providing the expertise to use it.

In spring 2011, the TRX Rip Trainer joined the TRX team. It was created by two-time US National Taekwondo Champion Pete Holman. The Rip Trainer is based on an asymmetrical movement with a counter-weight strap, which provides independent tension as the user has to maintain balance and strength at the same time.

Training philosophy

No part of the body works alone; every movement involves several parts. Try picking up a pencil from the floor using only your hands. It is impossible. The simplest movement involves the legs, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, arms and neck. The body is a chain of muscles. Every movement we make is a movement of the whole body. That's why TRX uses equipment and movements that challenge the whole body.

TRX conducts top-level research and training with military units, professional athletes, coaches, professors and thousands of other active people to test, refine and test products.
